Our Commitment

At SaharaTrek, your privacy matters. We collect only the information needed to provide you with exceptional travel experiences in Morocco and to run our small business well. We never sell or rent your personal information. This policy explains plainly what we collect, what tools our website uses, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

When You Book a Tour or Contact Us:

Name and contact information (email, phone)
Travel dates and preferences
Dietary restrictions or accessibility needs
Passport information (only when required for accommodations)
Payment information (processed securely through our payment providers)

When You Visit Our Website:

Basic browsing data (pages visited, time spent, how you found us)
IP address, browser type, and device type
Cookies and similar technologies, described in detail below

Cookies, Analytics & Advertising Tools

We believe in telling you exactly what runs on our website, and when. Here is the complete list:

Essential cookies. Required for the website to function (security, performance, and remembering your cookie choices). These are always on.
Site speed (NitroPack). Our pages are delivered through NitroPack, a website-speed service. Like any web host, it receives the technical data needed to deliver our pages and count page views for our plan: the address of the page, the page that sent you, and your IP address.
Advertising measurement (Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising). We advertise on Google and Bing. Their measurement tags help us understand which ads lead to inquiries. These tags load only after you click Accept All (or allow Marketing in Preferences), and they never load in a browser that sends the Global Privacy Control signal. Once loaded, they may set cookies and receive limited technical data such as your IP address, browser information, and the pages you visit on our site. Live chat (Tawk.to). The chat only loads when you click the chat button. It never loads on its own. When you open it, Tawk.to, our chat provider, receives your messages and basic visit information (such as the page you are on and your IP address) and saves the conversation so we can answer you. The chat window tells you this before you start. See Tawk.to’s privacy policy.
TripAdvisor review box (Trustindex). The TripAdvisor review box at the bottom of our home page appears only after you click Accept All. Until then, nothing is requested from Trustindex or TripAdvisor. Once it loads, those companies may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
YouTube videos. Some pages show a video as a still picture. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. Once you do, YouTube may set its own cookies under Google’s privacy policy.
Our own site analytics. We use a first-party tool built for our website that records pages visited and how visitors found us (for example, from a search engine or an ad). It runs only if you allow it in the cookie banner. This data is stored on our own server and is not shared with or sold to anyone.

What our website does not use: no session-recording or keystroke-capture tools, and no Facebook (Meta), TikTok or other social-media tracking pixels.

Your choices: When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you Accept All, Reject, or set detailed Preferences. Non-essential tools are held back until you choose, and Reject keeps them off. You can change your mind anytime using the preferences icon in the corner of the site. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, our advertising tags stay off even if you click Accept All. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

Who We Share With

We share only what is necessary, only with:

Hotels and riads – to confirm your reservations
Local guides – to coordinate your tours
Transportation providers – to arrange your transfers
Payment processors – to complete transactions securely
Service providers for our website – the site-speed, advertising, chat, review and video tools listed above receive the limited technical data described in that section, and only at the moments described there

Travel partners are bound by confidentiality and use your information only to provide the services you’ve booked.

Your Rights

Access the information we have about you
Request corrections to your information
Ask us to delete your information (after your tour is complete)
Change or withdraw your cookie consent at any time via the preferences icon
Ask questions about how we use your data

Depending on where you live (for example, California), you may have additional rights under your state’s privacy laws. Contact us and we will honor applicable requests.

Our tours are designed for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 16 without parental consent.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We’ll post any changes on this page and update the effective date. For significant changes, we’ll notify you by email.
